Comment: We were stationed at RAF Alconbury from 1969-1973. During that time, we lived in Huntingdon, Molesworth, St. Ives and Alconbury Weston. I attended Molesworth Elementary and Molesworth Jr. High. We came back to the States near the end of my 10th grade year, where my Dad retired from Patrick AFB in FL. Then we moved to Kingston, NY for a year, before returning to FL in 1974. I graduated from Twin Lakes High in 1975, and attended Columbia College in Columbia, MO from 1976-1981, graduating with a BA in English. I then moved to Chicago, where I lived from 1981-1986, before moving back to West Palm Beach, FL to reunite with my high school sweetheart, Frank. We married in 1994, had a daughter, Sydney, in 1998, and moved to VA in 2003. I have worked as a professional writer for over 30 years, and as a freelance writer and writing consultant for the past 16 years, specializing in magazine articles, bank bios, research and encyclopedia volumes, astrology publications, and mini books. | |

thanks for the site. Glad I found you. Loved my time in jolly ole England. It was the best place of everywhere we were stationed. Hope to come to the next reunion. This one conflicts with my 40 class reunion.

Hello fellow alumni. I attended Alconbury/Molesworth from 1970 to 1974. I was on the last bus to leave R.A.F Molesworth on the last day of school there! Here we are 35 years later, and I still look back at those days as some of the best years of my life! I lived in the small town of Southoe, just off of the A1, and had a 20 mile ride to and from school every day. I am currently living in Ainsworth, Iowa. I work at home as an artist for several motor cycle (biker) magizines, and calender companies. I also buy and sell postage stamps and vintage gokarts on eBay. I have a daughter, Chelsea 24, with two kids, and a son, Dustin 17, he will be graduating this spring. Dustin will be traveling to England this summer as an ambassador for People to People. He will also be visiting Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland during his stay. Last year he traveled to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Loved every second of it!! In my spare time I enjoy restoring classic cars, motor cycles, and vintage racing go karts, airbrush painting, working on my house (three years now! ), and riding my 1984 Harley Davidson FLH Electra-glide. I am married to the love of my life, Billie Jo. We will be married 20 years this July! Some of my friends in England were; Paul Gomez (always thought your sis Bev was hott! ), Ken Fuller, Van Spragins, and Marco Scalzo. (not sure on the spelling of a couple of those). You have a great website here! Isn't this internet thing kool ?! Take care everyone! |

Comment: My dad was in a critical carreer field so we moved about every 18 months. Our tour at Alconbury was our second one in England. Previously, my dad was stationed at Bentwaters and we lived in Felixstowe. We had been in Germany (Ramstein) just before we moved to Alconbury. After Alconbury, my dad went to Viet Nam and the rest of us lived in El Paso, Texas. Then it was on to Tucson, Arizona and back to Germany. Funny how I still feel more European than American (or maybe that's just Texan). I absolutely LOVED being a military 'brat'! |
