Comment: Was at Alconbury from 1966 to late 1968 when my dad was assigned to Carswell AFB in Fort Worth until his retirement. We then went back to Massachusetts where my parents were born. My gypsy roots have taken me all over the world on business. I have lived in Worcester, Massachusetts, Charlottesville, Virginia, and for the last 20 years, Las Cruces, New Mexico. I have two (now grown) adopted sons from India. It looks like the circle is closing as I head back to Massachusetts to take care of my ailing mother. I am a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none, as they say. I design and build furniture, am a writer and photo-journalist, a computer programmer specializing in database management, and a forever dreamer. Those years in England were among the best and most memorable of my life.

Comment: After leaving Alconbury, my father had three additional assignments before retiring. We were in Northern Virginia, where I attended college at George Mason; Korea, where I taught at Seoul Foreign School; and finally again in Northern Virginia before returning to Texas. For the most part, I have been in the Dallas area since 1981, with a couple of short stints in Austin and one in DC. I am still working full-time in government relations and grassroots management for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. I’ve enjoyed connecting with a few friends from Alconbury over the past few years. Anyone else is also welcome to reach out.
Your best memory?: | There are so many memories! Two have stood the test of time: standing in line 6 hours to view the King Tut exhibit (including the funeral mask) and seeing Trooping the Colour from the bleacher seats at Whitehall, with my brother, the Garrison brothers, and Jan Fillmore. |
