Guest Book

Hello fellow Spartans and Lancers - Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the reunion this year; however, I have recently reconnected with two others who attended Molesworth, Alconbury, Lakenheath during the mid-70's. Both Dana (Yates) Traversi and Dwayne Cormier can be found on Facebook, as can I. We lived in Yaxley, St. Ives and on base at Alconbury during my 6-year stint from 71-77. I would love to reconnect with more of you, so please reach out if you feel so inclined. Take it easy, Rick
Just like everybody else found this site by accident . Dad was stationed at Alconbury,we lived in Peterbourgh from 69 to 70 I think maybe a little bit longer (Parents got divorced came back to the states waaayyyy to early) there was 7 of us but my sisters Patricia, Cindy and I went to Molesworth . We lived on Mountbatten Way with the Zieglers ,Fausettes , Cliff Sexton funny I can remember names back then but now forget it:) and I think there was an english bloke named Tony I wish I knew his last name he played american football pretty good also there was a girl last name Quesinberry I think she lived on that street also. Man those memories are coming back. I played football 1 year for the school maybe that will jar some memories of some of the players played right guard and end. And by the way does anybody that lived on Mountbatten Way know what happened to my 2 baseball gloves I had. Never came back with my rest of my stuff. Thinking about writing a story about my life in England with my parents divorcing and all and how my life and my siblings changed drastically and I always wanted to end the story with those 2 baseball gloves . Crazy concept oh well Hope to hear from anybody from the school or anybody that lived on Mountbatten Way. and by the way I go by Joe now always hated Gerald
Hi! I went to Alconbury Elementary from 69-72. I remember Mrs.Kornbacher, and I had Mrs.Hainey. I remember the beautiful cornfield behind the school, and a girl in my class that would eat raw red cabbage so she would come to class with a red face courtesy of the cabbage. We lived in Buckden, daddy was with the fire station. We would host Christmas oarties for the guys every year, and mana would wrap presents so they could be taken to the orphanages. I’m in Dallas!
Hi, everyone! Went looking for this page because Cheryl Trent asked me if I was going to the next reunion and I didn\'t know anything about it, so thought I\'d look it up. My dad was stationed at Alconbury from December 1969 to May 1971 and I attended Molesworth Jr. High for half of 8th grade and most of 9th grade. We lived in Peterborough, about halfway between the Weatherfords and the Faussetes. Looking at the pictures on this site certainly brings back great memories. That was our second tour in England and I have always felt more at home there than I do anywhere in the States. I\'m currently living in Houston and I really miss the cool weather in England! Oh yeah, in case you don\'t remember the name I was the REALLY shy girl with short red hair and glasses who sometimes hung out with Glenda Higgins and Cheryl Trent. I was the only girl (and 8th grader) in one of Mr. Craven\'s Algebra I classes. I\'d love to hear from fellow classmates and the neighborhood kids from Peterborough!
Just want to get in this morning.
Hello Everyone, I am Leonard Arnold the treasurer in 72-73 at Molesworth Junior high, Who served with Shawn O'Neil as president, and heaven knows who was vice president and secretary. I went to 11th grade at Lakenheath in 73-74, and played football under DC Nelson as head coach and was the statistician for the basketball team. I knew LuAnn Heath, Cindy Biggs, Rod Pounds, Karen Floyd, Alan and Andre Everett, Greg Bolden, Maurice Hunter, Wayne Sullivan, Joe Rollins, Bobby Bell, Squid, Heavy, Gracey, Clarence (Pookei) Cowan, Debbie and Dee Earl Vaden, Louis Eaton, Peggie Rankin, Beverly gomez, Joanie Taylor, Chris Metz, and many others including my brother Jeff Arnold, Jessie Isom, lou Gracey, Tex Gassaway, Ernie Kovel, Gary and Gail Sullivan, and that is a good start. I don't know if I can make Denver this year because my family reunion is usually on my grandmother's birthday which is the 4th of July. So keep in touch and please friend me on facebook.
I went to Molesworth from 67 to 70, for 6,7, and 8th grades. Woukld love to hear from anyone from that time frame. Great to see there is an actual site for the old school. Cheers!
Hi everyone! I attended Molesworth from 1969-1972 and then Lakenheath during 1972& 1973. I lived at Molesworth base housing about 5 houses down from Mr. Fitzpatrick. It would be so good to reconnect with the old gang. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Alan Hart, Jeff Kinser, Mike Elkins, Jan Fillmore, or Cheryl King? It was a wonderful time in all our lives. I am saddened by those we have lost. I would love to hear from anyone who was there at the time. I currently live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Have a great day everyone! Hope to hear from someone soon!
My father was stationed at Alconbury 1968-70. My brother and I attended Molesworth whereas the other two siblings went to the base school. These were memorable years indeed. Mr. Bixby's unorthodox but effective English teaching skills via radio plays stands out. I had no idea there was this site. I searched on his name and up popped this! My parents were collectors of furniture while there and we left with antique clocks and a whole assortment of other stuff that adorned my parents home until just last year. We move to California for a year when my Dad was deployed to Vietnam and then to Idaho where he retired and stayed. I went to college and graduate school there and eventually took a job in the Los Angeles area where I have been for 30 years. What a life we had as dependents! It was the best education anyone could ask for.
Hello ya'll, I was on FaceBook looking the other day for friends when I went to Molesworth 68-69, Lakenheath 69-70. I finally found Julie Quigg and Pam Fuller. I knew they build a High School on Alconbury and Molesworth become an active base, but I do not know if it where we went to school. There is also a website for the earlier years called Alconburybrats. My thoughts are "How many guys should have taken typing back in Junior and HS." LOL
Hello all, viewing the photographs brought back lots of memories. Ken
Hello everyone! Just wanted to say I can't wait for the next reunion in '15, '17 or '18! I hope it's going to be in 2017. And tho' I live on the west coast (Ca.), I'd LOVE an excuse to go to NYC again! In New Orleans I stayed in my timeshare so felt disconnected to everyone. My sister wanted to leave early & also didn't want to attend the last days' "goodbye" brunch. My sister & I did have a great 10 day trip to N.O., seeing lots of things in the area. Hoping to see more Chelveston people @ the next reunion!- Tonya Edwards, Kathy Ehlert, Kat Pare', Lori Noble, Bobby Rowe, to name a few.
My brothers (Al & Ray), sister Medora and I lived at Alconbury from 1964-1966 and went to Molesworth. Medora also went to Lakenheath. I went to a 'Molesworth Reunion' in Fairhope, AL last year but everyone was from earlier years. Have no idea if anyone remembers any of us but would love to hear if they do! Wish I'd been able to go to NOLA.
went there from 1959 to 1961 hard to remember:}
oh yea all my child hood friends from there have probably died from old age....we lived in north luffenham air force base you know the thor missles
CONGRATULATIONS to my sister, Sheri Morgan. She got hitched to her fiance', Mike Agnew, on September 13, 2008!
Just found out about this site from Estella. We both left Molesworth at the same time and landed at Travis AFB, CA. way back in '74. Nice to read some of the comments posted on this site. My 14 year old visited England this past summer and went to Alconbury and Molesworth. He had a blast. Glad to see so many of you keeping in touch.
went to Alconbury I think in 69 or 70 parents got divorced did not graduate there .
It is great to see this site happening. How do I get my name added to the prestigious list of alumni? Robin, Steve and Susan are all still live an well too. If anyone knows where Bobby Dickenson is, I'd love to reconnect. I look forward to reconnecting with old friends.Eddy
Like a long lost friend, the memories float back and forth in time, only to remind us the separation is only temporary and therefore, not real. See you all there~
Went to Molesworth/Alconbury 73-75. Went by Mike Pollock, (Step Dad) Amazing how many of you have kept in touch. Glad to know so many of you are doing well.
My dad was stationed at Alconbury 67 - 71. My sisters and I went to the elementary school. By coincidence I now live in Peterborough. Lots of changes kntge base!E732
Wow! The picture of Tex and me really brings back the memories! My husband (Steve) and I are relocating to Louisville, KY in the next few months. Any Alconbury/Lakenheath alums live in that area?Diana S. Jester
We were at Alconbury for only a year. I went to 7th grade at MJH 68-69. Some friends were Mark Moody, Phillip Church, Scott Comer, Jim Smart, Susan Adams, Debi Gallant, Pat Condon. I worked in the UK in \'02-03, and tried to visit Molesworth for nostalgia\'s sake. Very heavy security because of the joint services intel operation there now, and no one gets on without official business. But I was able to get onto Alconbury with no problem. It had changed remarkably little, and many areas were easily recognizable from the late 60s.
Hey everyone, just heard about this site fantassstic. I\'ve been out of touch for awhile. I attended the 1st reuniun in Dallas and was just surviving. So anyway Pat Reed if you read this contact me. Has anyone heard from the Billys {Jones and James} we played ball together for the Angels at Alconbury. Hi Kim
Congratulations to all who attended Molesworth Junior High! I taught English & math 1964-65. Probably the best teaching assignment in my career. I often think about the greatest kids I have taught. Most of you probably don't remember much of what I taught in English or Math, but will never forget the outdoor education trip for my seventh graders at Camp Mohawk. You were the first "brats" to ever participate in this type of activity. I hope the program was carried on in future years. Would like to hear from former students and how things worked out in your lives. Mr.Clarke
Hi...it was great to find this site and to see alot of names I remember...I went to school at Alconbury from 1974-1979 ...we lived at RAF Chelveston.. I have been trying to find some of my old friends, Stephanie Haslam, Heather Martone, Scarlett, Kim Cowan...havent had any luck yet, so it was great to find this site....I live in buffalo new york now with my husband and 2 children...never have been back to England since leaving there, but do hope to someday go back and visit and see the familiar places of my teen years..would love to hear from anyone that remembers me...:) I also have 3 brothers that someone may recall..they are Woody, Ricky, Robert also all Harpers and our parents names were Vern and Ellie Harper
On behalf of David Nicholas Bibb who passed away 24 May 2014, loved and missed so much.
I attended USAF Alconbury school 75/76, I have lots of memories of these happy times, unfortunately I can't remember many names, I thiink Eddie and Bear, who, both at the time I was very close to. If anyone has any information, or yearbook I would reallly appreciate it. I live in Bedfordshire, England.
My dad was stationed at RAF Alconbury on two tours, from 1966-1968 and 1970-1972, the first tour we lived in Buckden and the second tour we lived in Buckden Towers (castle) and base housing. I went to both Alconbury Elementary and Molesworth (7th/8th grades). I have great memories of my time here and see some familiar names (Goddens). I gave my first kiss to a special girl (Lynda Godden). I played for the Spartans on base and Matt Eccles got me onto the team and played Center. I remember Matt Eccles who lived across from me on base, Bradley and Randy Miller, Ron Barker. Would be good to hear from them again or hear of them. I currently live near London an hour away from Alconbury and have been there many times. Molesworth is a top secret base now so can't go into it. If anyone remembers my brother Richard, sisters Patty and Ana, me say hello. Be great to hear from you.
Hello to all. I returned to Alconbury/Molesworth/Peterborough (Westwood) last month as planned and had a tearfully good time. I have some great stories and photos to share and will do so asap. Almost got shot (or worse) by a junk yard owner trying to find the school (MJHS)...All the best,Michael Stevens (Molesworth 69-73/Class of 75)
I went to Alonbury Elementray from 1981-1984. I can\'t even find the school on google maps. What happened to it? I had MIss Cooper in 1st grade, Miss Newsome in 2nd, Mrs. Calzini in 3rd, and Mrs. Louder in 3rd or 4th. She was a new teacher (Southen accent). When she came they split the 3rd grade classes up and I got scwitched, THANK GOD. She was SUCH a nicer teacher! I had a stomache ache everyday in the other class :-( I\'m wondering, could it be possible any of them are still there? Not likely being a base school, but just thought I\'d ask. Would love to know where my teachers and classmates went to.
Interesting website... Attended Molesworth from 70-73 and Lakenheath 73-74....moved to Tabb VA for my senior year 74-75....
Hello All.....
Thanks Kim! As usual you and the website are great. I have yet to miss a reunion and, God willing, I will be there next summer. These reunions ground me and remind me to keep things in perspective.
Hi, Kim & everybody. Hope I'll be able to make the reunion. There's a possibility we'll be having a family reunion that same weekend so I'll just have to wait and see. My husband and I just returned from 8 days in London with my former roommate at Lakenheath, Doris (White) Buckhannon, and her husband; and her brother, Dave White, who graduated a year ahead of us, and another friend. We had a blast (other than the security hell and subsequent delays at the airports). Do you anticipate having many Lakenheath-ians (Lakenheath-ites??) from the classes of '71 and '72???

Can't wait to attend the reunion this time around. I hope to see lots of faces from the past and re-live some of those days from yester-year! Kim, you're a jewel for taking on this project year after year. Thanks a million
Great site Kim. I was @ Molesworth for 5-7th (67-70) and played in a band with Nick Johnson, Patrick Connors, and Vance Pickins called "Axis Fold." I hope to make the next reunion.
